Wang Liao (Ichigo33) is the solo designer, developer, and artist behind Ichigo Studio. Ten projects shipped between 2023 and 2026 in Unity and Unreal — including Lightsaver (light-bending physics puzzle on Steam), Ninja Drummer (procedural-music rhythm prototype), and the Woodland Season board game. The work favours experimental mechanics and tight scopes — at a size one pair of hands can finish.
Wang Liao (Ichigo33) is the founder of Ichigo Studio, a solo game-development practice currently in New York City and moving back to Shanghai in summer 2026. A 2024 graduate of UC Santa Cruz's Art & Design: Games and Playable Media (AGPM) program — wrapping the senior thesis (ARTG170–172) with Fraw G. and the Moth, Goat in Our Stars, Dragon Gate, and Mariana Trek — and finishing the Games for Learning MS at NYU in May 2026, he designs, codes, and draws his own games, mostly in Unity and Unreal. The studio name comes from Bleach, the manga that shaped how he thinks about characters and worlds; Ichigo is the main character's name, and reads as “strawberry” in Japanese. The studio runs on one rule: if it can't ship in six weeks, it's a different game.

"A satisfying game that will make you contemplate the nature of light. Recommended for anyone who enjoys light-bending puzzles."

"Felt like middle-school physics, in the best way. Reflection and refraction as the core mechanic is genuinely novel — the little rabbit becoming light feels like a light spirit."
